Dongxiang lamb
Dongxiang lamb is a characteristic flavor of Zhenjiang, produced in Dalu Town,
Yaoqiao Town, and Dagang area of Dantu District, Zhenjiang City. This area is
located in the eastern part of Zhenjiang City and is called "Dongxiang". The
traditional Dongxiang mutton is Braised mutton in brown sauce, which is tender,
fat but not greasy, and can nourish the stomach. Dongxiang lamb has great
attention to the selection of ingredients, cooking, and processing of lamb meat
(using slow fire to cook bean stalks). Because the main ingredient used is local
goats from the past, and these goats grow up on the green grass by the fields,
embankments, and hills, Dongxiang lamb can be called a "green food".
